What is Candle Genie?
Two prediction games that settle on a public blockchain. You keep your own money, the rules are written into a contract nobody can edit, and every stake and payout is a transaction anyone can look up.
Candle Genie is a place to back what you think will happen. There are two games. In Price Prediction you say whether the price of an asset will be higher or lower five minutes from now. In Event Prediction you pick an answer to a question about something happening in the world — a fight, a map, a launch, a price at a named minute.
Both work the same way underneath, and it is worth understanding that way before you put anything in, because it is different from a bookmaker and different from a casino.
Nobody sets the odds
There is no house line to beat. Everybody who backs the same answer puts their money in the same pot, and when the answer is known, the winning pot splits everything. Your payout is whatever that division comes to.
This has a consequence people find surprising at first: the number you see is not a promise. It moves as money arrives. If half the players pile onto the answer you chose, your multiplier falls, because the same prize is now shared more ways. If they pile onto the other side, yours rises. You are not betting against the house — you are betting against everybody who disagrees with you.
You always bet blind
Every market shuts its book before the answer can be known. In Price Prediction the round locks, and only then does the five minutes that decides it begin. In Event Prediction the lock lands before the match, the map, or the candle that settles the question.
The contract enforces this, not the interface. An entry sent one second after the lock is rejected by the chain itself. There is no version of the site, no API call and no wallet trick that gets a bet in late.
Your money is never held by us
When you enter, your stake goes to the contract — not to a company account. It sits there with other funds in a shared balance. The contract records its obligations to players separately from the balance available for operator withdrawals.
There is no deposit, no account balance and no withdrawal queue. You connect a wallet, you pay per bet, and you claim per win. If you never come back, the money is still yours: there is no expiry on a claim.
What it costs
- House cut
- 5% of the pot, taken only from markets that actually pay out. The contract caps this — it can never be set above 10%, and the cap is a constant that cannot be changed after deployment.
- Network gas
- A few cents of BNB per transaction, paid to the network rather than to us. You pay it to enter and again to claim.
- Deposits & withdrawals
- None. There is nothing to deposit into and nothing to withdraw from.
Event refunds apply only to cancelled events or events still unresolved seven days after lock. Valid results pay winning stakes using the normal formula, even if every player chose the same answer. Losing stakes are not refunded when nobody backed the winner. Eligible refunds return original stakes without a fee.
A claim has no expiry, but payment requires enough contract balance. Event payouts use shared house funding; if it is insufficient, the operator must add funds and the player can retry the unpaid claim.
Getting started
- 1Connect a walletAny BNB Chain wallet. Nothing is created for you and no sign-up exists — the wallet is the account. See Wallet & Gas.
- 2Put a little BNB in itEnough for a stake plus gas. The smallest entry either game accepts is
0.001 BNB. - 3Pick a gamePrice Prediction if you want a result in ten minutes. Event Prediction if you would rather back something you actually know about.
- 4Read the rule before you enterEvery event market states in words exactly what settles it and when. If the rule is not clear to you, that market is not for you.
